Arsenal Goalkeeper Manuel Almunia Wants To Return To Spain

The agent of Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia has revealed his client is eager to return to Spain and play in La Liga.

Joseba Diaz says his side have yet to finalise a move for the 33-year-old, but it has been made clear to him what the shot-stopper wants to do.

"We have still not finished negotiations, but it is clear Manuel wants to return to Spain," Diaz told The Guardian.

Diaz also admitted that an offer from a Qatari club had been made.

Almunia is currently in the Iberian nation recovering from an injured elbow. He has been linked with a move away, where Fulham custodian Mark Schwarzer and Cagliari's Federico Marchetti were touted as possible replacements during the summer transfer window.
